Do you Twitter?

I almost forgot...

I started Twittering today.

What is twittering, you ask?  I couldn't figure it out either.  But it's entire purpose (all you do on this site) is update what you are doing.  I have it connected to my facebook too--so whenever I update on Twitter, it automatically updates Facebook.

I saw that Grampi and Alex were both on it.  Anyone else want to join too?  We'll be able to follow each other and what we're up to.  Kinda fun!

Update: What's going on

  • Friday I am heading down to the southern tip of New Jersey, with my friend Kathy, to go to a wedding. A friend of ours from High School! Following the wedding on Saturday, we're driving up to NYC to spend 2 nights and 1 day in the city celebrating our birthday (we were born 9 days apart). So Grampi--if you're around on Sunday--I'll be in the city!
  • "Radio V" is starting to pull together. You may recall that in past years I've been involved in a local theater production known as "Radio". This year it is coming together again, with official auditions being held the end of September. However, those of us who have been in it in past years are not required to audition! Just to let the director know of our interest and what roles we are interested in. Great huh?
  • Austin plans are starting to come together. I have committed to working at my current job through the end of February. Therefore my move to Austin will most likely take place in early/mid March. I'm still looking at various jobs--lots of leads, but nothing has come to fruition yet--however, March is a long ways off still.
  • Cameron is coming to visit--most likely at the end of October. Yay!
  • And as my birthday is around the corner :) If you're wondering what to get me...the things on the top of my list are Amazon.com gift certificates and The Apple Store gift certificates (not to be confused with iTunes gift certificates) Although, gift certificates for iTunes are nice too--- butI have my eye on some Apple Store items instead. :) Just in case you're wondering.
So, how's that for an update!?!? :)

Labor Day

Late in the afternoon on Labor Day we decided to head down to Winslow Park.  Mom, Dad, Janna, Trish and I.  We ate an early dinner and then went down to sit on the rocks and enjoy the nice warm (hot actually) day.  It was so nice.

Trish and Janna--digging for clams.

Janna found a baby one!  But she did put it back.

A White Egret.

Some 'artsy' photos of the area.

Times with friends

So--the reason I haven't blogged since getting home is twofold.  First, when I got back from Matinicus--we had German's visiting us!  Actually, just one German--from one of the tool companies that we sell tools for.  But he and another American who also sells these same tools were here for 2-1/2 days, and we spent each day, and each evening with them!  So, by the time I'd get home--after 9--I was exhausted, and blogging was the last thing on my mind.

Following that--and I mean, the day they left--my friend Jen came to visit for a few days!  It was so nice to see her--and so of course that meant I still didn't blog.

Here I am with Jen (and Hannah and Miranda--2 girls we know) at Two Lights, in Cape Elizabeth, Maine.  We met up for lunch--actually, Hannah and Miranda didn't know Jen was there.  I surprised them with her--it was great.

And then--my friends from Massachusetts showed up, the same day Jen was leaving.  They were coming up because Lonestar (a very popular country music band) was doing a free concert at L.L.Bean!  It was so nice to just get to spend a day or so with my best girlfriends from college.  I really miss them just about all the time.

So--here is Discovery Park at L.L.Bean, most of these chairs had been here all week!!  I couldn't believe how many chairs were already set up.  And this was nothing compared to how many people were there by the time the concert started.  I've never seen so many people in town.

At one point in the afternoon it decided to rain...a lot...

but luckily, we had secured a place to sit which was under a great canopy of trees!  So, we didn't even get wet!

Here are my girlfriends.  Lissa, Nicole (who is 6 months pregnant), Kim and of course my sister Janna.

Me and my friend Sarah (from here in Maine--not from college)

Matinicus (finally!)

So, I'm finally getting a chance to catch up on my blogging.  I'll explain the delay another time.  For now--here are a selection of pictures from Matinicus!!

Nola and I took George's boat out--since it was COMPLETELY fogged in.  So much so, that we had driven up on Friday night, to only have to drive back home that night, and back up Saturday morning to take George's boat.  We were so relieved to get out to the island finally!!

George, enjoying his lunch as he took us out to the island!!

Upon arrival, we hit the beach (the fog had cleared)

Janna finally had enough of Ryan, and proceeded to remind him who is boss.  It was fantastic...and happened more than once during the week.

ahhh...first sunset of the week.

Brendan and Aidan built a raft at the beach on day 2

Aidan wanted to be buried in the sand.  Until his sister kicked sand on his face (by accident).  oops...poor kid.

Every night, Aidan took his dinner out on the porch to watch the sunset.  It was so incredibly cute.

Can you blame him with a view like this?

Brendan requested a hammock date with me, just like the one I had with Meaghan last year.

We were quickly joined by Aidan.

Innkeeper's Pie!!

Cold rainy day--and we still had to ride in the back of the truck :)

It was really raining hard.

Lobster night!

The lobster moved....

And it moved again.  LOL!!!  The funniest thing about this picture, is that it is the real thing.  She was smiling so nicely, and then this is what I saw on my camera when it took.  ha!!

But Laura loves them...

So does Meaghan

And Grammy.  She's the only one with enough patience to pick the bodies clean.

Girl hammock date!

The boys playing Battleship with Grammy

Wild Maine Roses

Janna's friends...the turkeys.  They had a knack for surprising Janna.  And we all know how much Janna likes surprises like that!

Family softball game!

Navy seal team :)

Jim and the boys--yes, it is intentionally blurry with the tree in focus.

Preparing for our annual water balloon fight!!

However, it started a little early--Ryan needed another 'Janna beating'.

In fact, he needed several

"Where's Aidan?"

Then Jim brought out the hose (as always)

And my AMAZING sister wrestled it away from him!!!  She actually got it!

Our last night, we had a bonfire on the beach.  Just the 4 of us (me, Janna, Colleen, and Chris)

Working hard to clean our cabin.  :)

Matinicus and busy-ness!!!

So, I know I haven't blogged yet about Matinicus (which is where I have been for the past 9 days) And I'm sorry I didn't keep up. I have probably 800 pictures (no exaggeration) and I promise I will get some posted (but not all 800). :)

I may not get to it this week even, though because I have a ridiculously busy week this week. So, I'm sorry in advance. But know that everything is fine--and I'll get to it ASAP.

Flooding in Freeport

So...we had lots of rain last night, which actually resulted in flooding. Crazy huh? So much so, that roads actually got washed out. Some major roads even. Including Desert Road and Hunter Road. Other roads were damaged too--Varney Road, Beach Hill Road--and I think they said Staples point too.

Here is one of many news stories about it.

Steven Curtis Chapman's interview

If you missed Steven Curtis Chapman's interview on Good Morning America on Wednesday morning. Here it is. It's a great interview, although unfortunately--as producers often do--have edited out words like God, Jesus and that sort of thing. They just talk about 'faith'. Better than nothing. But the interview is a tear jerker of course.

Happy Birthday Alex!!!

Today is Alex's 25th birthday!!!  I so wish he could be here with us (he does too for the record)  But we all called him this morning from Matinicus (we all being Grampi, Nola, Mom, Dad and I) and sang to him.  He was at rehearsal already.

He mentioned that he isn't even having a crisis yet, given that he's a quarter of a century old.  I told him that he didn't need to worry since the crisis doesn't happen at 25.  It happens at 27.  lol.

Anyway, Happy Birthday to my little brother!!
