So I'm not even sure where to start. I mean, how is it that 2 months have passed since I wrote a blog???? I really don't know where the time goes. Speaking of time, Tres and I are coming up on our 1 year anniversary! Seriously...
Where does the time go?
Anyway, since I last posted...I promised to post a pic of Jordan. I hope he doesn't mind. ha. I didn't ask. Too bad, my blog. :)
So, Jordan is the son of our great friend, and pastor, Greg. Greg was the best man at our wedding, and is currently our pastor too. So Jordan and Janna met when she came down with my parents last April for our Texas Reception. And let's just say that over the months since then, they've gotten to know each other and yes, they're dating. (We like Jordan by the way, he's not your typical 17 year old) But how, with all these miles between them, is this going to work?
Well, Jordan is currently a senior in high school, but he's always wanted to go to college in NYC. Seriously. Since he was a little kid. So, there you go--Janna's in NYC, and Jordan most likely will be too.
He also makes a great lawn boy. That's what I call him. ha! He was sweet enough to come by back in January and move firewood up to our back porch for me (I like building fires, even in Texas. It's the Mainer in me, I can't help it ok?)
Then Grammy and Grampy came to visit on their way to AZ. I didn't get any pictures unfortunately (I've really done poorly taking pictures the last few months) But it was so nice having them come to visit and spend a few days here with us.
Then last month, Lisa came to visit! She's my friend and Mary Kay Director. She was in Houston for a Mary Kay conference and drove out to visit us for one night. Very nice to see her and spend a very short amount of time with her too.
Other news: It snowed a few weeks ago. Now, from time to time they get snow in the Austin area....but it rarely accumulates, and rarely sticks. This was what we woke up to one Friday morning (this is our backyard) and it stayed for a good part of the morning. In fact, there was a section of our driveway that didn't melt until the next day (because it's constantly in the shade)
But it was great, everything shut down. The entire area. No one went anywhere. So we had a snow day! We stayed home all day, I stayed in my PJ's all day and worked on my cross stitch which I hadn't picked up in forever, and we watched Lonesome Dove. ha! It was great.
And here was our front yard from our front door. Didn't have shoes on so I didn't want to walk out on the walkway to get a better pic. Lazy, I know.
So what else? Well, my family is coming to visit for Easter! I am so excited about that. Mom, Dad, Janna and potentially Matt too! Sadly Alex can't come, one of these days he will I'm sure! But I am so excited they're coming. And they're staying for a whole week. So looking forward to that.
Also, Greg asked me to lead Worship at church last week and this upcoming week. It was fantastic, and I'm so looking forward to it this week. I haven't seen the church enter into worship like that since I've been there, and there has been a lot of positive feedback. I'm hoping this will turn into a permanent position for me. We'll see.
Otherwise, we're just living our normal everyday lives. I've taken to cooking lots and lots in the crockpot. Lots. It's fantastic. It's my new best friend. Then I don't have to worry about making dinner. I love it :) I'm still working for Tracy 2 days a week, and Pat Danforth (National Sales Director) a few hours a week. Plus doing youth, worship, Mary Kay and everything that goes on here at home. Busy busy, but very happy.
Looking forward to celebrating our one year anniversary. I don't know what we're doing. I'm sure we'll go out to dinner and that sort of thing. Tres had said that he had wanted to take me somewhere for the weekend, but just 2 weeks after that we're going to Galveston for a Mary Kay Conference, so that makes finances a little tight for 2 trips in one month. But he won't tell me what he was planning to do, so I'm sure we'll just do his plans another time.
Ummm....I think I've covered it all for the moment. See why I haven't blogged? Not much to tell at this point. ha. Just our boring, everyday lives! But we love it. Wouldn't change it for the world.
In closing, here is our sweet Dolly. Not sure if I've ever shared a picture of her on the blog. She's our Border Collie. Actually, she came as part of the package with Tres. He had her before he found me. She's 2-1/2 and such a good dog.
I love watching her sleep because she gets herself into the cutest positions. This being one of them, from the other day. I think I have more pictures of her sleeping than awake. ha!
