So....we have big news!!
As of Monday the 21st of December, we will officially own this property! It's hard to see in the pics because there are so many trees on it that I can't get a good picture to show you yet, but I will. This will give me something regular to document on the blog. :)
Anyway, this is where we'll be building our house! We are so excited. Now that we have the land finalized we can finish the house plans, which are well underway.
One of the coolest things about this, is we got this for nearly 1/2 the price it's worth. It's owned by an old man in PA who we're not even sure has ever laid eyes on it, and he just was happy to sell it to us, and wasn't looking to make a profit. So this piece of land which is worth $25k-$30k, we purchased for $15k!! Talk about a God-sent.
So, today (because the survey was finally completed earlier today) the 4 of us went out to the property to mark off the lines a little better for our own visual purposes. So we put more ribbon out, you can see it disappearing into the trees in the pic below.
And we tied ribbons on another property line. You can see it on a tree in the background too.

One view from the road, can't get the entire property from the road since I can't get far enough back. But as we start to clear (starting in January) the pictures will get easier I think.
So, let the planning and building begin! I'm not sure what our timeline is yet. We have to sit down with the builder again, but he's eager to get going. And so are we!

Congratulations, Tres & Kate! Being land owners and dreaming up your home is fun, isn't it? We will have to wait a while longer before we build on our land (sometime after we move back to the States), but meanwhile, we continue to dream!
So glad to see that you are blogging again. It sort of helps us northern folks to keep up with you and Tres. We will see you soon. It was great to have you in Maine over Christmas. Love Grampy Dick & Grammy Penny
