Austin Update 2

I meant to do some blogging yesterday, but never got around to it. Sorry.

So, let me start where I left off. Sunday night, I did end up going to Chris Tomlin's church. The Austin Stone. It was fantastic (and no he wasn't there, for those of you who are wondering). It reminded me so much of my church at home. Visually it was similar, since this church meets in a high school gym and my church meets in a warehouse. And, the worship was amazing, and the heart of this church just seems to be a lot like mine. They are aware of what the 'important' things are, and they just seemed so real. The Pastor was fantastic, and I got to meet his wife, and she is super cute. The way the pastor teaches is so much like my pastor. I just loved it.

I met up with this girl, Sarah, who is a friend of a friend. She's wicked sweet--and I'm so glad I got to meet her!

So, Dan arrived safe and sound yesterday, around 4pm. The poor guy was exhausted since he'd been up really early. His flight was supposed to take off at 6am, and so he was at the airport really early, but when he got to the airport, he found out his flight was delayed until 10, because the plane he was supposed to be on, never showed up. Figures. But, he made it!

We had to hurry though, because we had to pull together a set, and head straight out to the coffee house. Which we did very quickly (because we are just that good) :)

So, here we are, waiting for our turn to play.

The performance went really well. We were really just background music. This place, Mozarts, is a place where a lot of students come to study and hang out...so it isn't an attentive crowd, but a lot of them seemed to be listening.

This is John and Joley. John is the one who booked us for this performance, Joley is a friend of his who often plays with him. They played after we were done.

This is Amy, she and her hubby are the couple I met at church on Sunday. I was so glad that they came! They are such sweet people. We're most likely getting together with them for dinner tonight too!

And Dale, her husband.

So, today, the order of business is....to sleep in! I already did it as long as I could. Dan is still sleeping...hence why I'm blogging right now, to pass the time :)

We're hoping to meet up with Paul Vick for lunch today. He runs a ministry nationwide for college age students, and he has been suggested to me by 2 different people since I got down here. And it just so happens that he is a friend of Dale's. Go figure. So, we're waiting to get a call from him to make plans.

Then, I think we'll try to go horseback riding (yay!) and then we'll have dinner with the Baker's, and then we're going to try to enjoy some Austin nightlife, and see what it is all about. So, it is going to be a nice full day, and we are really looking forward to it.
