To The Max!

Friday night was "To The Max"! A fundraiser, auction and cabaret for Max Thomas. A 15 year old boy here in town who has been diagnosed with a life threatening brain tumor. So I don't have a whole lot to tell about the show without going through each individual act. But I organized the performance aspect along with equal help from one other person (for whom I am so grateful!) The whole thing went very well. I was so relieved when it all started because that meant that whatever happened, happened. And Max was actually there! So that was very cool.

Here are some pictures from the night:
Here is Matt and Laura--Masters of Ceremonies for the evening. They did a fantastic job...and yes, Matt actually ENJOYED being on stage. Imagine that!
This is one of the bands, called Cool Water. They are our local cowboy band. They are fantastic, and probably my favorite act of the night. Although I enjoyed everyone thoroughly...but I could listen to Cool Water for a very long time.

And yes...this is me. Singing Chris Tomlin's version of "Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)". This was the FIRST TIME I have ever played my guitar in front of an audience...apparently it was just fine, and based on the comments made by some very trustworthy people--they never would have guessed that I'd never performed with my guitar before. Singing...no problem...guitar...another story. But its good to know that it was actually good!

I also sang the "Chattanooga Choo Choo" with a few other ladies (who were awesome!) But Laura H. (who was manning my camera for the night...) was too busy talking out in the gym...and didn't return in time to take a picture of it. :( Sad. Hopefully I can get a picture from someone else, because I'd really like one.

Anyway, the whole night was great. And I heard today through an email that the evening raised over $25,000 for Max!! Wow!! And not everything auctioned yet--the remaining items are going onto a special website to be auctioned online instead.
