Yes...there really is a desert in Maine. No kidding. Its a natural phenomenon. My friends Kim and Sarah R. had never seen it before. So on Labor day, we went over there with Sarah G, to take the tour. I mean honestly, you can't live in Freeport...and never have been to the desert!It used to be a farm, and the sand just came up through!
The sand is super fine...so after our tour we sat down under a tree (because my friends are wonderful and understand that I can't be in the sun...) :) And we just chatted there for a while with our feet in the sand. It is so soft...like Sarasota, FL sand.
