Austin Java

So, I'm becoming a 'regular' at Austin Java.

I've been in every day this week to use their internet, and of course buy a drink of some sort (because that is the appropriate thing to do)  But it is a hopping place, but comfortable to be in.  Lots of interesting people, music playing, the internet is free--you really can't go wrong.  Plus, the food and drinks are really good too.

But, they're starting to recognize me.  They don't know my name--but they greet me like they know me now.  LOL.  They definitely know I'm not from around here, because I'm always asking them questions about what is in foods, drinks, etc.  Things that are normal around here, but I have no clue about.  :)

So, Monday night I went to a Mary Kay meeting and got connected with some of those ladies around here.  That was a great thing to do.  The director, Christy, is super cute and super nice.  After the meeting I headed down to Mozarts, which is where Dan and I sang last time I was here.  Joley (who I'm staying with) and John (who I knew from last time too) were performing there that night.  So I went to listen to them for a while.

Yesterday, I spent most of my day visiting tool customers.  Even though this is a personal trip, I wanted to meet some of my other customers--so that was fun to see their operations and meet them face to face.  The housing market down here is really hopping.  Very much unlike the Northeast.

Last night I met up with this super sweet woman named Ainsley--who is a friend of a friend from Maine.  We went out to dinner, she's my age, a Christian, and a girly girl.  So, we got along famously.  She drove me around a bit, and showed me some of the sights.  Including the flagship Whole Foods store.  We walked around inside, it is pretty impressive.  Even moreso than the ones I've seen in New York.

Anyway, so--tonight I'm going out to dinner with Amy and Dale (the couple I met last time), and I have plans every other night this week!  My days are pretty open, which is good, and then my nights have plans, which is better.  So I'm glad for that.

Cameron is taking me country dancing on Friday night--so I'm super excited about that.  :)

The latest on Jen is that she was going to buy a ticket and make it down sometime in the next day or so.  Not that I don't think the intention is there--but I'll believe it when I see a ticket.  Or rather, when I see her face at the airport.  She had some stuff which wasn't so great happen over the weekend, which changed her plans--she didn't think she was going to make it down at all--but she has since changed her mind.  I think it is all going to depend on what she finds for prices on tickets.  Even so, I'm doing just fine on my own--and meeting lots of people, and keeping myself very busy.
